empowering women through theatre
Mission
Women Act Theatre's mission is to empower women and female actors to learn and enjoy acting in an environment free of judgement.
We also aim to create more development opportunities aimed at "mature" female actors and women, offering a space where they can play and expand their skills, grow their confidence and together challenge the industry's misogynist representation of women.
Team
SUSANA MILLÁN
Artistic Director
Susana is an experienced Spanish actor, theatre maker and facilitator. She specialises in feminist theatre and uses a variety of forms in her work.
She graduated with distinction from UEL after completing her MA in Acting and is now studying towards a PhD in feminist theatre and Stanislavsky at Royal Holloway University of London.
Her first play as a writer/director was Breaking The Cycle, an auto-ethnographic feminist performance that explored the themes of intergenerational trauma and gender violence.
She is currently developing her second project Places, a one woman play about friendship, loss, migration and identity.
